| West Bengal’s Participation in Hannover Fair, 2009 |
|
The Hannover Fair 2009, one of the world’s largest fair on Industrial Automation, Energy, Research and Technology, Engineering and Subcontracting was held at Hannover, Germany from April 20 to April 24, 2009. With 6150 exhibitors from 61 different nations, the fair provided the world’s largest and most important platform for showcasing Industrial Technology.
As in the previous years, the Government of West Bengal participated in the fair, coordinated by West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDC). The team from WBIDC included Dr. Subrata Gupta, MD, WBIDC, Mr. S. P. Yadav, ED, WBIDC, Mr. Amitava Dasgupta, GM, WBIDC and Mr. Sudeep Das, Manager, WBIDC.
The West Bengal Pavilion at the fair comprised of eight companies operating in the state including Haldia Petrochemicals Limited, Universal Success Enterprises Limited, Bengal Integrated Automobile Engineering Park, Oscar Equipments Pvt. Limited, Tega Industries Ltd, Ramswarup Industries, Sova Power and ISR Infomedia Pvt. While all the participating companies shared information on their products and interacted with the other exhibiting companies and visitors, senior officials from WBIDC highlighted West Bengal’s prowess in sectors like Infrastructure, Engineering and the state’s strategic advantages.
The five-day mega international event saw participation from a large number of visitors and extensive interaction amongst the exhibitors. The West Bengal Pavilion was also visited by large number of companies who enquired about the scope for setting up of industries in the State. |
