Jangal Sundari Karmanagari - Purulia

West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDC) under the aegis of Department of Industry Commerce & Enterprises Government of West Bengal is developing Jungle Sundari Karmanagari. This endeavour by the State is envisaged to gather investments to the tune of INR 63,000 CR and generate employment to over 1.5 lakh people in the coming years.
Hon'ble Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee inaugurated and launched the Project “JANGAL SUNDARI KARMNAGARI” on 8th February 2021. ; where in 3448.79 acres of Industrial Land of WBIDC is available..

Project Brief

Jangal Sundari Karmanagari has been proposed as a high impact, market driven node with investment friendly facility regimes which aims at development of manufacturing sectors within Purulia region to act as catalysts to trigger socio-economic development of the region.
Project site (JSK I and JSK II) consists of the following two land parcels ~23 km (approx.) apart :
- Jungle Sundari Karmanagari – I
- a) Land Parcel 1 comprises of Total Land of 1923.49 acres
- b) Land Parcel 2 comprises of total land of 733.39 acres
- Jungle Sundari Karmanagari – II
- a) Land Parcel 1 comprises of Total Land of 155.50 acres
- b) Land Parcel 2 comprises of total land of 636.01 acres
First two parcels are approximately 5 Km apart from each other. These two Parcels are joined by State Highway-5. Third parcel of land is about 23 Km away from the JSK I.
The gas pipeline (17.61 acres) of GAIL runs through the project area.
DVC has been earlier allotted 75.35 acres land for a purpose of Rail & Road Corridor for their Thermal Power Station, which has been completed & the alignment is runs through the project site.
Location Advantage

- The Site is situated in the North-East part of Purulia district of West Bengal.
- The site is accessible through State Highway-5. The nearest National Highway connecting it with different towns is NH-19 at a distance of approx. 36 Km.
- It is well connected to Eastern Railways and South Eastern Railways. The nearest Railway Stations in and around are Adra Junction, Bero, Joychondi Pahar etc.
- Nearest Airport is Andal Airport at Durgapur (Approx. 82 Km), followed by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport at Kolkata (Approx. 255 Km) and Bagdogra International Airport at Bagdogra, Darjeeling (Approx. 490 Km).
- Nearest Sea port is Haldia Port (Approx. 350 Km) which is one of the major ports of India. Other nearest River Ports are Kolkata Port and Farakka Port. These ports are part of the Major port network of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Port Trust.
